Lanie Oberg

Lanie Oberg joined the W&A family in 2012, bringing a wealth of experience from the corporate and hospitality sectors. With a dynamic background that includes various roles at Marriott and Hilton Hotels in sales and office management, Lanie’s expertise is extensive and multifaceted.

A champion of company culture and a powerhouse of positive energy, Lanie plays a crucial role at W&A, steering company spirit to new heights and enabling W&A’s CEO to dream big while she expertly manages the finer details. Picture someone who crafts meticulous plans with the precision of a master architect yet dances gracefully through the unexpected twists and turns of last-minute changes. Lanie Oberg is the embodiment of this rare balance. She can draw up detailed blueprints for any project, ensuring every ‘i’ is dotted and every ‘t’ is crossed. And when life throws a curveball, she adapts with the ease and calm of a seasoned improviser, seamlessly integrating new elements into her well-laid plans without missing a beat. Lanie’s ability to blend careful planning with effortless flexibility makes her a true maestro of both order and spontaneity.

A dedicated member of the Memphis Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP), Lanie earned her Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certification in 2008 and her Organizational Management (OM) certification in 2012. Throughout her time with IAAP, Lanie has chaired numerous committees and regularly attends learning events to share and gain knowledge.

Proud of the life she and her husband Derek have built, Lanie has always emphasized the importance of service, diversity, and resilience in raising their now adult children, Midge, Grayson, and Max. Her community spirit shines through her many years as a Girl Scout troop leader and her active engagement with the Church of Christ White Station. Lanie’s heart is as big as her smile, illustrated by her years of volunteering at the Memphis Crisis Center, providing a lifeline through the national suicide hotline network.

When she’s not busy being a superwoman, Lanie loves diving into audiobooks, camping, hiking, cross-stitching, and hitting the open road for spontaneous adventures. Her passion for the outdoors fuels her dream of creating a year-round summer camp experience for women. Ultimately, she envisions living with friends on the Current River in Missouri, selling products, and living off the land, where hospitality and community remain at the heart of her endeavors.
