Sharon Tyson is W&A’s Director of Client Services. Driven by a nurturing and service-oriented character, Sharon’s goal is always to provide exemplary support to our clients and strategists, as she has done since 2005.
Sharon began her career in the financial services industry in 1999 with Morgan Stanley. She obtained her Series 7 license and managed over 1,500 household accounts as a Long-Term Care and Life Insurance Marketing Associate. In 2002, she joined Morgan Keegan, where she was responsible for all the IRA custodial tax reporting for the IRS on behalf of Morgan Keegan. She was instrumental in bridging the gap for customers and financial advisors on the more than 100,000 new IRA accounts opened as part of the merger with Union Planters.
Sharon graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Crichton College, all while raising her three children by herself. A native Memphian, she enjoys spending time with her family and is devoted to her three grandchildren.
A teacher at heart, Sharon is passionate about giving back to her community. She leads several bible study classes for women. She is actively involved in the Memphis chapter of Thistle & Bee, a social justice enterprise that helps women survivors thrive. She is also one of the Sunday school class teachers at her church and serves as Secretary Emeritus for the Mid-South Faith Walk International Community board.
Sharon’s favorite quote illustrates her servant’s heart perfectly, “A person’s most beautiful asset is not a head full of knowledge, but a heart full of love, an ear ready to listen, and a hand willing to help others.” – anonymous.
