2023 AdvisorHub Top 100 RIAs To Watch Award Criteria

The 2023 AdvisorHub “Advisors to Watch” award was announced in June 2023. Data as of 12/31/2021 and 12/31/2022 was provided and considered for this award. The ranking recognizes advisors across the country for their quality of practice, professionalism, character and community involvement. Criteria considered included: assets under management, production/revenue, team size and more. The financial advisor does not pay a fee to be considered for or to receive this award. This award does not evaluate the quality of services provided to clients. This is not indicative of this financial advisor’s future performance.

YP 2023 Nashville Emerging Leader Awards Criteria

The Nashville Area Chamber and YP Nashville annually present the Nashville Emerging Leader Awards (NELAs). The NELAs recognize Nashville area young professionals ages 21-40 across 14 industries for significant accomplishments in their chosen career fields, as well as their commitment and contribution to the community. Judges for each industry are leaders from their respective field. Judges score applicants and decide the finalists and winner. W&A did not pay to be considered.

Nashville Post "In Charge" 2023 List Disclosure

The Nashville Post’s In Charge list is an annual list of who they believe to be Nashville’s most influential people. We found no official criteria for inclusion in this list, so we contacted the publication. We were informed that the selection was very broad and subjective, and there were no strict qualifications used for inclusion. Waddell & Associates did not pay for inclusion in this list.

Investment News 40 Under 40 2023 Criteria

InvestmentNews is the leading source for news, analysis and information essential to the financial advisory community. Since 1998, our standard of editorial excellence and deep industry knowledge has allowed us to educate, inform and engage the most influential financial advisers. Through a weekly newspaper, website, newsletters, research, events, videos, podcasts and webcasts, InvestmentNews provides exclusive and up-to-the-minute news, as well as actionable intelligence, that empowers financial advisers to serve their clients and run their businesses more effectively whenever, however and wherever they need it. InvestmentNews, headquartered in New York, is part of Bonhill Group Plc.

This varies by award and is explained in the nomination form for each award category. Each award program and category receives an different an unpredictable number of nominations, so it is impossible to assure a typical range of competition.

The criteria are published with the opening of each nomination period and do not change over the course of the nomination and judging period.

DEI, 40 Under 40 and Women to Watch are qualitative awards, judged by IN editors, with the exception of the Women to Watch Ascension Award, which is earned by any employer where women comprise at least a third of the C-level leadership. The Best Places to Work methodology is determined by the Best Companies group, a third-party vendor with which IN has a publishing partnership. The IN Best Practices methodology is quantitative, based on responses to the annual IN Advisor Benchmarking Study.

In 2022, IN retooled the methodology for its Women to Watch awards, adding corporate awards, including the Ascension award. The other award categories and methodologies remain unchanged.

For DEI, 40 Under 40 and Women to Watch, the IN editors and reporters judge nominations. The IN Best Practices recognition is based on quantitative rankings of firms’ submissions.

For qualitative awards, the number of winners ranges per subcategory, from a single lifetime achievement winner to up to five rising stars. There is no limittro the Ascension award. The Best Places to Work for Financial Advisors lists 15 to 35 winners each for small, medium and large workplaces, in a typical award cycle. The Best Practices Awards recognize up to 12 firms in different size categories.

Winners’ awards are not renewed annually, but may be cited indefinitely. Winners may nominate themselves for subsequent award cycles, and may be considered, with the exception of lifetime achievement awards, which may be won once.

NBJ 2022 Most Admired CEO Criteria

The Most Admired CEO rankings are published by Nashville Business Journal an independent company unaffiliated with Waddell & Associates.

The Most Admired CEOs Awards honor the leaders who are shining examples of how all companies should be run and managed.

Eligibility:
– Nominees must be local and:
– Be a CEO or equivalent at a local company or organization.
– Nominees can be the top local executive of national companies.
– Both nominee and nominees’ companies must be headquartered or have major operations in the 10-county Nashville area that includes Cheatham, Davidson, Dickson, Maury, Montgomery, Robertson, Rutherford, Sumner, Williamson and Wilson counties.
– Most Admired CEO honorees from 2012-2021 are eligible for the 2022 awards program.

Process:
– NBJ takes nominations from the public.
– From these nominations, an internal committee culls the list. Next, there will be private voting for nominees to vote on each other. Each category will have a voting period in which nominees will vote only on their specific category and the Lifetime Achievement category. This process was designed to determine who truly is most admired by their peers.
– After all voting is closed and due diligence is completed, the Nashville Business Journal announces the winners in each category

MBJ 2022 Best Places to Work, Micro Category Criteria

Best Places to Work rankings are published by RIA Intel, an independent company unaffiliated with Waddell & Associates.

The Best Places to Work awards honors companies in the Mid-South that create policies and foster a work environment that employees value.

Criteria:
– A company must have a minimum of 10 employees to qualify.
– Companies are ranked in micro, small, medium, and large categories.
– Pay $250 entry fee to participate.
– Conduct employee survey: An email from a 3rd party, Quantum, will be sent to all eligible company employees so that they can complete the independent, quantitative, confidential, online employee engagement survey. The survey contains approximately 40 questions and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Quantum’s analytical tools then select the top organizations in each size class (micro, small, medium, and large).

The Memphis Business Journal recognizes the finalists and announces the top companies at an awards program. The leading companies are profiled in the Memphis Business Journal.

The Luminaries rankings are published by ThinkAdvisor, an independent company unaffiliated with Waddell & Associates.

Criteria: The nominee’s impact on the firm, its advisors and the broader professional community and industry, as well as on the landscape of clients, prospective clients, investors and would-be investors nationwide. This impact should include both quantitative and qualitative results — such as the number of advisors affected by the nominee and a clear description of the innovative way the nominee has contributed to the particular program, firm and broader community, and industry.

– A demonstrated ability to achieve goals and display ingenuity in terms of creative thinking and problem solving – i.e., filling a significant gap.
– A description of the nominee’s dedication to furthering the development of advisors and the industry — most notably its ability to serve the best interests of investor clients and the broader community in which they live and work.
– A personal commitment to the highest ethical standards, service and excellence.
– You may nominate individuals, teams or organizations. Please submit no more than four entries per company. Every year, Memphis Business Journal takes time out to honor the dedication and achievement of hard-working entrepreneurs, and every year they ask for input from the local community to help them do that.

The CFO of the Year rankings are published by Memphis Business Journal, an independent company unaffiliated with Waddell & Associates.

Eligibility: The nominees must be a Chief Financial Officer or hold an equivalent position at a local company or organization. Nominee’s company must be headquartered in the Memphis or Mid-South area. A panel of independent judges will determine the winners based on outstanding performance for their companies during the fiscal or calendar last three years (2018, 2019, 2020) and 2021 projection.

Criteria includes: Financial management: Demonstrated contribution to the company’s growth and/or profitability, best practices, complexity of transactions – with quantitative examples.
Company Leadership: Demonstrated team leadership and superior management
Strategic thinking: Ideas or initiatives that strengthened the company’s strategic market position; success in overcoming business challenges or barriers.
