Memphis native Perry Green is a financial maestro. Armed with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Memphis and a Master of Taxation from the University of Mississippi, Perry became a CPA in 1992.
Kicking off his journey in 1993 at Ernst & Young, LLP, Perry delved into the intricate world of financial services, swiftly mastering the ropes of corporate, individual, and estate and gift tax projects. By 1997, he found his niche at Rhea & Ivy, PLC, honing his expertise in individual income tax and estate and gift tax planning, ultimately obtaining the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation in 1997. A lifelong learner, Perry achieved the Chartered Financial Analyst™ (CFA®) designation in 2004 and added the Chartered Advisor and Philanthropy (CAP®) designation to his resume in December of 2023.
Perry’s chapter with W&A began when he joined as a wealth strategist in September 2001. His leadership skills elevated him to the CFO role, ultimately leading to his promotion to partner in 2017. Perry’s forte lies in guiding owners of closely held businesses and executives of large corporations through the maze of tax planning, transition planning, and stock option strategies. He provides invaluable insight into philanthropic and legacy planning, illuminating the path forward for a diverse array of clients.
Perry has been featured in Forbes, Authority Magazine, and Financial Planning Magazine, and in 2021, Perry was honored with the CFO of the Year award* by the Memphis Business Journal.
Perry’s affiliations with the Financial Planning Association of Greater Memphis, the Tennessee Society of CPAs, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants underscore his commitment to professional growth and civic stewardship. He serves on the board of the YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South and is a former board member of the Memphis Estate Planning Council. When he’s not charting financial futures, Perry shares his expertise through speaking engagements ranging from demystifying tax strategies to charitable gifting.
Perry and his wife, Jennifer, are very proud of their grown kids, Hallie and Ben. A fervent tennis enthusiast, Perry dreams of jetting off to Paris to watch the French Open, followed by a rendezvous with Wimbledon in London—a grand slam vacation indeed!
